One thing you can do in Chicago around August is the Bud
Billiken Parade it usually happens in the second week in August. It is the
oldest and largest African American parade in the United States since 1929.
People all ages come together to watch dance groups, cheer teams, step teams,
fire fighters, police officers and many more.
It is one day out of the summer where everyone comes together to have
fun. The parade is so crowed there don’t
really be any parking and all the news channels be there. I danced in the
parade one time when I was younger; it was one of my best experiences while growing
up in Chicago.
