You hear a whole lot about the racism of our criminal
justice system, and in the past 16 months.
The Guardian has done extraordinary work compiling its database of all
police shootings in 2015. Keith Childress, an unarmed 23-year-old black man,
was shot on Dec. 31, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nev.
Omar Ventura, a 23-year-old Hispanic man armed with a knife, was shot on
Dec. 24, 2015, in a house in Porterville, Calif. Derek DeGroat, a 21-year-old
white man armed with a gun, was shot on Dec. 21, 2015, in a house in Canaan
Township, Pa. Shirley Weis, a 51-year-old white woman armed with a gun, was
shot on Dec. 13, 2015, in Arlington, Tex.
